CyberPsychology: Psychological Issues in the Age of Computers

Course Description: This course will explore psychological processes and issues as they are emerging in the brave new world of computers, multimedia, and networks. We will discuss the impact of computers on all aspects of behavior from sensory and perceptual processes to memory, learning, and thinking. We will discuss the implications in social, educational, and clinical psychology.

The course will be held in one of the three fully electronic classrooms on the campus: the aITs Teaching Theater. All course materials and assignments will be on-line both in the Teaching Theater and on the World Wide Web using HyperCourseware. Interactive "chat" sessions and teleconferencing will be explored. Finally, the course will include lab sessions for hands development of multimedia materials and World Wide Web servers.

Requirements: All students must have WAM accounts and Internet access for out of class interactions and work. Students should be very familiar and comfortable with the use of computers and the Internet.
